Thank you Reunion Committee -- What an opportunity you have given our class. At 63 years young, a class reunion is a little scary, but I am adventursome.

I have lived in Colorado all my life. The beauty of the Rocky Mountains is what makes me happy! I enjoy being outdoors skiing, biking, hiking, or playing golf. In 1967 I married Jim Varner, the famous trumpet player in our WRHS band. We were married for 29 years and had two wonderful boys. In 1997 our youngest son, Mark was killed in an auto accident, and in the same year Jim and I were divorced. Our other son, Jim lives in Loveland, CO with his wife, Mindy Varner and their two dogs.

As far as my careers, I was a registered nurse for 19 years, and than I went back to school and decided to get a degree in elementary education. I taught 2nd grade in Evergreen for 12 years and happily retired in 2000.

Retirement agrees with me and has included travel, community envolvement, and just enjoying life to it fullest. In 2001 I was lucky enough to marry Dennis Smith, a retired PGA caddy and at present a physical education teacher. He will retire in 2009, and than life will include more travel and more outdoor activities together. Dennis had two girls (Melanie and Selena) and that gave us four delightful grandchildren. Life is good and I count my blessings each and every day.
